Anne L. Westbrook
joined the BSCS staff in 1999 as a science educator. Currently, she is the principal investigator and project director for a grant from the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) to develop a new curriculum unit, Drug Abuse, Addiction, and the Adolescent Brain, that includes both print and video components. While at BSCS, Anne has worked on a wide variety of projects. She has served as project director for contracts from NIH to develop several modules in the NIH Curriculum Supplement Series. She has also led the revisions of 10th edition BSCS Biology: An Ecological Approach and 3rd edition of BSCS Biology: A Human Approach. Anne has contributed to many other projects that involve both print and multimedia formats.
Anne has a Ph.D. in biology from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC-CH). She did postdoctoral research at the University of Utah. Her primary research training is in the areas of neuroendocrinology and developmental neurobiology. While at UNC-CH, Anne developed both a correspondence course and a laboratory course in developmental biology for The Partnership for Minority Advancement in the Biomolecular Sciences. |
