Karen Askinas
Research Assistant

Karen Askinas joined BSCS in November of 2008 as a Research Assistant in the Center for Research and Evaluation.
Her prior work experience includes several years as a bank examiner for the FDIC and working for a large, financial institution in commercial and construction lending review. She has recently worked for Junior Achievement implementing economic education programs in schools for kindergarten through high school, training volunteers, and redeveloping the fifth grade JA program to focus on the importance of science, technology, engineering, and math skills as applied in many businesses and careers.
Karen has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting and Scandinavian Studies from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. Outside of work she enjoys skiing, knitting, reading and spending time with her husband and three boys.
