BSCS Podcast > What is a Podcast

Technical:
Podcasting, a portmanteau of Apple's "iPod" and "broadcasting", is a method of publishing files to the Internet, allowing users to subscribe to a feed and receive new files automatically by subscription, usually at no cost.
Podcasting entails audio content that is delivered via an RSS feed presenting a downloadable or streaming file (often mp3).

What this means you:
You need to have a podcatcher (A program that holds your podcast), such as iTunes©. Your "podcatcher" will automatically subscribe you to a podcast, such as the Rodger W. Bybee Podcast, once you click on the link provided by the podcaster.

You do not need an iPod©, all you need is a computer and an internet connection.

Final Word:

  • Download iTunes.
  • Click on the link entitled "Add to iTunes" on the previous page.
  • Download our podcast.
  • Enjoy!
