Carlo Parravano, Ph.D., is Executive Director of the Merck Institute for Science Education. In this position Dr. Parravano is responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of numerous initiatives to improve science education. Prior to joining Merck, Dr. Parravano was a professor of Chemistry at the State University of New York, College at Purchase, and currently serves as a member of the National Research Council's Board on Science Education.
Dr. Parravano served on the BSCS Board of Directors from 1997-2006 (Chair 2001-2006) and rejoined the Board in 2010.
