This curriculum allows students to ask questions, collaborate with peers, and carry out investigations. It also provides teachers with the tools to make biology interesting for students by integrating reading, discussing, experimenting, presenting, watching, calculating, and writing—there is something for every student.
Roadmap for Geographic Education Workshop
BSCS Executive Director Janet Carlson will be a keynote speaker at a workshop focused on effective teaching, learning, professional development, and instructional materials. The workshop is intended to spark scholarly discussion and thought regarding how we design professional development and instructional materials. Carlson's keynote topic is titled "Issues in professional development and instructional materials."
The workshop is a funded activity through National Geographic Education Foundation's Roadmap for Geographic Education grant (from the National Science Foundation) and is hosted by the National Council for Geographic Education, a non-profit organization chartered to enhance the status and quality of geography teaching and learning.
