BSCS uses the most recent studies by eminent researchers to provide pertinent/relative professional development for teachers who wish to have their student learn science.
Michael Hannigan, Pikes Peak Community Foundation CEO, will be the featured speaker at this month's event, sponsored by the Colorado Springs Science Center Project (CSSCP). Science on Tap is a community outreach program designed to gather audiences in a fun and casual environment to learn from local scientists about contemporary science topics. Mr. Hannigan’s talk, titled "Food Insanity: What we don't know will hurt us!" will discuss how misconceptions about meats, cereal grains, oils and fats, sugars, soy, corn, and food additives contribute to our current national "food insanity." The event is scheduled from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
BSCS Executive Director Janet Carlson is a founding director of CSSCP, a collaborative, community-engaged initiative to build a science and technology center in Colorado Springs that stimulates and inspires the inquisitive mind. Click here for more information about Science on Tap.
