This curriculum allows students to ask questions, collaborate with peers, and carry out investigations. It also provides teachers with the tools to make biology interesting for students by integrating reading, discussing, experimenting, presenting, watching, calculating, and writing—there is something for every student.
ViSTA Workshop
A professional development opportunity. BSCS invites science educators and methods course instructors to attend a one-and-a-half day workshop to learn about the ViSTA online, videocase modules and how to use them in courses such as elementary science methods. There are four ViSTA modules (Electricity, Plants, Water Cycle, and Inquiry) that are designed for both online and face-to-face interactions in elementary science methods courses. Attendees will learn how to use the modules most effectively in this unique professional development opportunity for science educators. Two additional ViSTA PD opportunities will be offered later this fall. The August workshop will cover the Plants and Electricity Modules.
Participants' travel, food, and lodging expenses will be covered while participating in the workshops and each attendee will receive a stipend.
