For a scientific society to be democratic, the people themselves must understand the nature of the scientific forces and problems that dominate their lives.
ViSTA Workshop
A professional development opportunity. BSCS invites science educators and methods course instructors to attend a one-and-a-half day workshop to learn about the ViSTA online, videocase modules and how to use them in courses such as elementary science methods. There are four ViSTA modules (Electricity, Plants, Water Cycle, and Inquiry) that are designed for both online and face-to-face interactions in elementary science methods courses. Attendees will learn how to use the modules most effectively in this unique professional development opportunity for science educators. The November workshop will cover the Inquiry Module.
Participants' travel, food, and lodging expenses will be covered while participating in the workshops and each attendee will receive a stipend.
