Students in 11th and 12th grades take part in the Elaborate activity (Reconstructing the Scene) for Chapter 1 of the Science and Society unit. In the activity, students act as paleoclimatologists as they reconstruct the scene of past climate in Battle Ground Lake, Washington. Their model uses pollen proxy data to infer climate conditions of the past.
