Pam Warren (pictured at right), BSCS Assistant to the Center Director (Curriculum Development), is a member of the Colorado Springs Astronomical Society (CSAS), a group composed of approximately 70 members--beginner to expert in experience. Thanks to Pam's affiliation with the club, BSCS has received special permission to post its newest website background image, The Great Nebula in Orion.

CSAS member Matthew T. Russell captured the stunning image from Black Forest, Colorado. To learn more about Russell’s images, visit http://www.telescopes.cc.

The CSAS meets monthly for an indoor meeting featuring an astronomy-related program, and during all but the coldest months, club members and guests meet at a dark sky site for a serious observing session. In addition, the club hosts city-wide observing events as well as private sessions for local schools, scout groups, and others. To learn more about the club, visit http://www.csastro.org.
