Commissioned by BSCS in honor of its 50th anniversary, BSCS: The Continuing Story takes the viewer back in time to science education in the late 1950s and early 60s. Learn what world crisis brought about massive changes in science education in the U.S. How did evolution fit into the picture, and why did BSCS produce three different versions of science education curriculum materials?

This 27-minute video features special footage from the early days of BSCS’s writing workshops and field tests, and includes interviews with six past and present BSCS directors. Special guest Susan S. Epperson talks about the 1968 Supreme Court case, Epperson vs Arkansas, which dealt with prohibiting the teaching of evolution in public schools. BSCS: The Continuing Story offers a fascinating look at the history of science education in the United States.

Produced by Hummingbird Films, this video is available in limited quantities in the BSCS eStore ($15.00). The DVD is free for those contributing to BSCS at the $100 level.
