This curriculum allows students to ask questions, collaborate with peers, and carry out investigations. It also provides teachers with the tools to make biology interesting for students by integrating reading, discussing, experimenting, presenting, watching, calculating, and writing—there is something for every student.

Jeffrey C. Estes, M.Ed., is Manager of Science & Engineering Education, Organizationl Development, at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) operated by Battelle for the U.S. Department of Energy. He is responsible for strategy execution and evaluation of the Laboratory’s efforts to 1) strengthen and advance science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education in Washington State; 2) improve the Laboratory’s education programs for students, faculty and K-12 teachers; 3) deliver against the STEM education expectations of the U.S. Department of Energy-Office of Science; and 4) connect PNNL to education initiatives that are part of an emerging effort by Battelle to catalyze sustainable improvements in STEM education.
Mr. Estes joined the BSCS Board of Directors in 2006.
