Many programs claim to be inquiry, but only BSCS provides the tools and training for teachers.
Nourishing the Planet in the 21st Century
- Developing a new curriculum supplement for use in grades 3–4
- Follows previous development of Nutrients for Life supplement for students in middle and high school
- Funding source: Nutrients for Life Foundation
BSCS is developing a new curriculum supplement, Nourishing the Planet in the 21st Century, for use in third- and fourth-grade science with funding from the Nutrients for Life Foundation. The unit, which will include five inquiry-based lessons, will enhance elementary students’ understanding of plant growth, agriculture, and the appropriate use of fertilizers to produce high quality food while protecting the environment. The curriculum supplement will feature an integrated science approach aligned with theNational Science Education Standards.
