In The Science of Mental Illness, students use inquiry-based activities to gain a better understanding of what mental illness is—and what it is not. This module focuses on the key concept that mental illness is not that different from other illnesses or diseases. Students also learn how science can continuously help us make informed decisions throughout our lives. Additionally, students can apply the knowledge they gain from this module as they encounter new situations and make decisions about their lives. The lessons in this module encourage students to think about the relationships among knowledge, choice, behavior, and human health.
