BSCS currently employs 39 highly skilled and dedicated staff with a broad range of experiences. Dr. Janet Carlson is the Executive Director of BSCS.Pamela Van Scotter serves as Senior Associate Director, and Dr. Joseph Taylor serves as Director of Research & Development.
On an annual basis, BSCS science educators:
- Contribute articles and professional papers to more than a dozen national publications;
- Offer 65–70 presentations and sessions at regional, state, and national science education conferences;
- Hold memberships to and affiliations with nationally recognized associations, including NSTA, NABT, AERA, NARST, ASTE, CAST, and NSDC;
- Serve on grant review panels
- Support the science education community by serving on numerous state, national, and international advisory boards and committees; and
- Share their expertise in science disciplines and areas of emphasis, including biology, Earth sciences, physics, chemistry, elementary education, multidisciplinary science, professional development, educational leadership, research, and equity in science education.
